aGLIFF 2011: Quick Snaps, the Majestic Bummy Version

If you haven't been attending the 24th Austin Gay and Lesbian International Film Festival (aGLIFF), you're missing out. Mike and Don will have more dispatches soon, but in the meantime, check out some of the folks in attendance.

In the above photo, Skot Tulk, former Executive Director of aGLIFF; filmmaker Monte Patterson, director of the powerful short Caught; and aGLIFF programmer Frank Hai take a moment between the fun Mangus! screening and the Majestic Dance Party at the Paramount.

Who brings it all together? An army of volunteers not only during the festival but all year long. Above are three superstars of aGLIFF: Board member and organizational maven Michelle Randolph, aGLIFF President John Livingston, and Executive Director Lindsay Muse.

Austin filmmakers are also in attendance; above are Robert Gomes, Dustin Shroff and Jayson Oaks. Gomes and Shroff recently finished shooting Deflated, a short sponsored by aGLIFF, and Shroff created the memorable bumpers for aGLIFF 24. Oaks is in pre-production for his film Flocker

Saturday's program included the Queer Youth Media Project program: Reuben Atkins and Mariah Steele were in attendance for two of their films produced this summer.

Lastly, aGLIFF organized a special wildfire relief drive with Austin Pets Alive!, which included special guests in attendance at some screenings.  Pictured above is aGLIFF's John Livingston, Austin Pets Alive! volunteers and the charming Bummy Von Vagabond. Don't forget that Austin Alamo Drafthouse locations are donating 5 percent of total sales this weekend to wildfire relief, so go see some movies, and enjoy a big meal.

aGLIFF ends tomorrow with screenings throughout the day and the Austin film Cancerpants closing the festival.
