The Alamo Drafthouse on South Lamar played host this week to a "secret screening with special guests." The guests turned out to be filmmaker Jason Reitman (Juno, Up in the Air) and actor/comedian Patton Oswalt.

Both are frequent visitors to Austin, and this time they were presenting the movie Young Adult. Reitman directed the movie, written by Diablo Cody and starring Oswalt and Charlize Theron.

The free screening filled both theaters #1 and #2 with some 400 people who lined up as much as four hours in advance, without even being sure of what movie they would see. However, Oswalt posted some sly hints on Twitter, so many audience members had a pretty good guess.

Attendees all received an original Tara McPherson screen print commissioned by the studio specifically and exclusively for the event.

Young Adult reviews are under studio embargo until closer to the release date (December 9 in New York/LA), but the audience buzz was by and large quite positive.
