Want to Preview Some Movies? For Free?
Moroch Entertainment and Fox Searchlight have kindly sent Slackerwood info on two free screenings taking place at the Arbor in the next week or two, for movies that haven't yet opened in Austin. The tickets are available online, and you can print them out and take them with you. These are standby tickets -- you aren't guaranteed a seat, it's first-come, first-serve. If you've been to these kinds of advance screenings before, you know it's a good idea to get there early.
Note: These online tickets are on the Gofobo website, and you must register with them to get a ticket. Simply printing the pages I've linked to isn't sufficient. I haven't used Gofobo myself, but the service is becoming popular for use with studio advance screenings. If they turn out to be wicked spammers, y'all let me know so I can bear that in mind for the next time I get this kind of info.
Here are the details on the two screenings, along with links to the tickets:
- Never Let Me Go screens on Tuesday, October 5 at the Arbor -- tickets here. If you miss the screening, the movie opens in Austin this Friday, October 8.
- Conviction screens on Tuesday, October 12 at the Arbor -- tickets here. If you miss the screening, the movie plays Austin Film Festival before opening in Austin on Friday, October 29.
